As a driver of innovative technology and design, Helly Hansen continues to redefine, reimagine and push the limits of professional grade apparel since 1877.

Testing the Odin 9 Worlds Infinity Shell
We were gifted the Helly Hansen Odin 9 Worlds shell jacket to test on one of our outdoor adventures and write an honest review. To put this jacket to the test I wore it on a 9 mile hike at Ladybower reservoir in the Peak District, ideally I wanted to test this out on a mountain summit as its features are designed for, but we’ve not had a chance yet so I will update this review once I have.
The jacket’s fully waterproof and breathable Helly Tech membrane and durable water-repellent performance uses no chemicals whatsoever.
The one time I actually wanted it to rain to test the jacket out it was a completely dry day, typical! However at the top of Derwent Edge, the wind is like being up a summit with the gail force winds and the jacket performed well keeping the cold wind at bay.
Combined with 100% polyamide 70D X 70D face and 100% polyurethane back, Helly Tech’s 3 layer fabric delivers exceptional waterproofness and breathability.
Usually on a long hike I’ll end up getting warm and wanting to take a layer off, I wore this jacket with a base layer under and the breathable technology kept me at a good temperature for the full 2 hours.
The Odin 9 Worlds jacket has everlasting water repellent protection that never needs to be reproofed or reactivated by tumble-drying, it delivers long-lasting, responsible and superior professional grade performance, consistently.
Sustainability
Taking environmental responsibility further, the Helly Hansen Odin collection offers inherent durable water repellency without chemicals and have a 16% lower environmental impact than standard Polyester, with an 18% saving in CO2eq.
Furthermore, each garment is solution-dyed, which eliminates harmful wastewater and keeps your gear looking fresh.
Overall I’d recommend the Helly Hansen’s Odin 9 words shell for most outdoor activities, from country walks to sending summits. Perfect as a lightweight waterproof for Summer, aswel as a shell in winter as its perfect for layering with a fleece or even down coat under.
