Wildflower Wood Glamping Pod Review: A beautiful Eco-holiday in West Cornwall

Wildflower Wood Glamping

Set on a hilltop with breath-taking views of the coast to the north and south, Wildflower Wood is the perfect location for a back to nature break.

This year we set a goal to explore more of the UK and swap holidaying abroad to staycation, first on our list was taking a trip South to the beautiful West Cornwall. There are so many options for accommodation, from cottages to hotels, however as keen outdoor explorers we wanted something more secluded and picturesque – so when we were invited to review the Wildflower Wood Glamping Pods at Beersheba Farm we had our bags packed and ready to go!

Wildflower Wood Glamping

Location

Sensitively set within five acres of protected woodland, Wildflower Wood is situated at Beersheba Farm, St Ives. The off-grid glamping site has been thoughtfully created to appeal to those who want to unplug, unwind and enjoy the scenery and wildlife that surround the Landpods.

This back-to-nature spot is in the perfect location for exploring Cornwall’s idyllic coastline, with so many stunning attractions within 15 mins away including; Porthmeor beach, Seal island (via boat), Godrevy Lighthouse, St Ives Surf school and so much more!

Wildflower Wood Glamping Pods

The Landpod® is a spacious glamping pod offering sleeping and living accommodation that are raised above the ground. Made in Britain, they are easy to install and require no ground preparation. As they do not impede rainfall to the tree roots, they have no impact on the surrounding trees, which is important as Wildflower Wood has a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) on it.

They were hand-built on site, so no vehicles or cranes to manoeuvre them on site. And, should they need to be, they can easily be removed leaving no sign they had been there.

There are now 5 cosy glamping pods on offer at Wildflower Wood, each with their own outside kitchen and seating area for cooking food and relaxing in the evening with the log fire under the stars! We had one night of rain during our stay, but with the sheltered outdoor area we were still able to sit out and listen to the rain with a cosy hot chocolate.

The off-grid glamping site has been thoughtfully created to appeal to those who want to unplug, unwind and enjoy the scenery and wildlife that surround the Landpods.

Eco-friendly Bikes for hire

Guests at Wildflower Wood at Beersheba Farm, St Ives, are now able to hire electric bikes for pedal-powered adventures while staying at this eco-friendly glamping site. With 2 electric bikes now available to hire during your stay. These electric powered pedals really enhance an eco holiday in beautiful West Cornwall. The area can get really busy during the Summer months, so getting about by car can prove troublesome with limited parking. We took the bikes out for the day and found it so much more convenient exploring the area.

The bikes have rack cargo bags so that guests can take picnics and other belongings with them or pick-up provisions en-route. Helmets are available, as well as locks and maps. They offer the ideal opportunity to travel to the site via public transport then explore at their own pace, taking the pretty rural lanes or trails. Wildflower Wood is a walkable distance (less than a mile) away from a bus stop with connections to St Ives and is accessible by train via either Carbis Bay or St Erth Stations.

You can also rent additional bikes at St Ives Bike shop, not far from glamping site, with a vast range of hardtail mountain, touring and road bikes available to chose from.

The Blue flag beach at Carbis Bay is just a mile-and-a-half away from the site, while the beaches of St Ives and Hayle are within easy cycling distance. Holiday makers will be able to make use of the dedicated cycle routes that venture around the coastline, including The Cornish Way to Land’s End which is part of National Cycle Network 3.

Facilities

In addition to the private kitchen area at each Landpod, there is also a designated toilet, shower and fridge for each pod, with a key to access. You will also find outside taps for drinking water and hand sanitising stations. I thought this was a really nice touch and in terms of facilities overall they really have thought of everything!

My favourite thing was the shower, as someone who usually spends most of her time wild camping in the mountains of Snowdonia – having a private shower felt like such a luxury. There were also toiletries available, and they were Vegan friendly which is a huge bonus for me!
